I'm studying for the Access 2007 exam. In the book they keep refering to a tab on the ribbon named "Datasheet." It is supposed to be to the right of the "Database Tools" tab. Can anyone tell me why this tab isn't showing on my ribbon?
James, What is the book you using for a study guide? Can you provide a page number where this tab is described as Datasheet? Ken thanks for writing. I'm using the Microsoft Official Academeic Course workbook titled "Office Access 2007 exam 77-605." The instruction in question is on page 20 under "Define data types for fields" Step 4 instructs to click the "Datasheet" tab. I see in their illustration where the tab should be but it just isn't there. I am most grateful for any helpyou can provide. Ken, I'm sorry I just noticed the instruction is on page 22 NOT page 20 as I said in my first email. Sorry for the mistake. Ken, YEA!!!!! I uninstalled all of my Office applications and reinstalled Office 2007 and Lo & Behold the Datasheet tab is there! Thanks for your help Ken you have no idea how much it means to me that someone replied to my asking for help. James "Ken Warthen" wrote: > James, > > What is the book you using for a study guide? James, It might not have been necessary for you to do a reinstall. There are two views available for database objects in Access 2007; overlapping windows and tabbed documents view. You can select your choice of views by clicking on the Office Menu button, selecting Access Options, and then Current Database. There you'll see Document Window Options where there is an option group and a check box for displaying document tabs. Good luck on your exam. James, The Datasheet tab will not be visible unless you have a table open in Datasheet view. The Datasheet tab is a context sensitive tab that only applies to tables. The tab will be replaced by the Design tab if the table is opened in design view. I hope this helps.
