In the last couple of months, when I click on a single cell in my .xls spreadsheets, two or more cells get selected. Very annoying! Other people have reported it in other forums, but no solutions. When I right-click and hold, I see "1R x 2C" or similar in the top left corner, as if I'm shift-selecting. The problem goes away if I do any of the following: - switch from Page Layout to Normal view - unmaximise the spreadsheet - change the zoom from 100% to something else. Is this a known bug?
I have exactly the same issue. Any news from Microsoft regarding this bug?
I'm afraid not. There are at least 4 threads regarding this problem in the Excel forum, the earliest I've found being 13th July 08, so I'm guessing that MS introduced a bug to Excel 2007 shortly before this and broadcast it to all of us on patch Tuesday. The workaround is to fiddle with the zoom or switch to full page view not print layout view. "Starscream" wrote: > I have exactly the same issue. Any news from Microsoft regarding this bug?
Clicking near the top of the cells seems to select the single cell. Clicking towards the bottom of the cell triggers the "bug".
One more "fix" Thanks for the info. Gord On Thu, 9 Oct 2008 14:43:00 -0700, lanrover5 wrote: >Clicking near the top of the cells seems to select the single cell. Clicking >towards the bottom of the cell triggers the "bug". >
