I know how to use an Excel spreadsheet in Access. I have a report created by a third party that looks like this: Package ID "A" Package "A" Description Related Item A1 Related Item 1 Description Related Item A2 Related Item 2 Description Package ID "B" Pacakage "B" Description Related Item B1 Related Item B1 Description etc... Package ID is supposed to be a subset of the related item ID, but is not consistent, so I need to create a column called "Package ID" in each Related Item row to compensate for that. I know how to remove the Package ID rows once that's done, but anyone got an elegant way to get the package ID column properly populated to a random number of its related items? I can do it, but I can't think of any way to do it except "bludgeoning it to death", which is more work than I want to do. Ideas? -- Jim
