In Excel 2003 I hit Control and [ (open bracket) at the same time and Excel goes to the first cell referenced in the formula I'm sitting on. If the first cell referenced is in another workbook, Excel will open that workbook and select the cell referenced. In Excel 2007, it seems like the same action will open the file referenced in the formula, but will not go to the cell referenced if the file is not already open. Anyone else seen this issue?
Hi, If I understand you correctly pressing Ctrl+[ opens the closed file but does not take you to the correct cell? I can't duplicate that behavior in 2007. -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "el_guapo" wrote: > In Excel 2003 I hit Control and [ (open bracket) at the same time and Excel > goes to the first cell referenced in the formula I'm sitting on. ShaneDevenshire - that's strange - i consistently get the wrong behavior. Can you make sure of a couple things for me? Assuming file A references a cell in file B: 1) in file B, make sure you're not sitting on the cell with the value that links to the file A when you save file B 2) make sure the file file B is closed when you hit control [ "ShaneDevenshire" wrote: > Hi, > > If I understand you correctly pressing Ctrl+[ opens the closed file but does > not take you to the correct cell?
