Read Only
Hi

A couple of times now I have placed an excel 2003 file on a site for
download (winzipped), and when the file has been downloaded and extracted
and changes having been made, the user has been unable to save changes
because it has become read only.

Why would this happen (it was not read only prior to uploading), and what is
the best way to get round this inconvenience?

I should add that all tool bars are hidden by code when macros are enabled,
so no menus are available.

TIA
Sandy

Re: Read Only
hi, Sandy !

could you be a little more specific on some (minor) details ? (i.e.)

- when/where/how/... the downloaded file becomes read-ony ?
  macros enabled/disabled ?

- is the user opening the xls from within the zipped file ?

- is the downloaded file on a network drive ?
(has the user all rights to the folder ?)

regards,
hector.
