Hi, I recently reloaded Word '97 on to a new HP computer. I have several documents with text boxes using inserted symbols. But the symbols are not showing up or are showing up wrong. Is there any setting that will correct this without having to re-do all the documents using these symbols within the text boxes? Thanks, Marc

You have probably already checked that you have the necessary font(s) on the new machine? The font drop-down won't show the real font if two conditions are met: The symbols have been inserted by the "Insert > Symbol" dialog, and if the font is a symbol font. In that case, you can select the symbol, open "Insert > Symbol", click on the button "Keyboard shortcut..." on the bottom, and look in the "Description" field. That'll display the font that is really used.
