Corrupt templates in Word 2007
All

At work we're deploying Office 2007 via SMS after removing Office 2003.
We currently have a .dot in the Startup folder which creates a button on
the toolbar which is used to access a number of other templates. When
the the button is used a small dialogue pops up which displays the
templates in the Templates folder. It has worked like this Office 2000
but under 2007 they don't work.

Under Word 2007 when the button is used the dialogue box pops up and one
of the templates can be selected but when the Ok button is clicked Word
2007 informs us that the template is corrupt and to use the Repairer to
repair it. This is for all of the templates and the Repairer doesn't
help and the security in the Trust Centre is set to low.

But, if the templates are run manually from any location on the PC they
each run perfectly so I need to find a way to get Word to accept that
the templates aren't corrupt. I could use SMS to deploy the templates to
user's desktops but we don't want to do that as it's messy.

Any ideas what I can do to fix it so our users can access the templates
via the button on the toolbar? Do I need to compile them or something in
Word 2007? Maybe open them and do a Save As?

thanks for any input

Re: Corrupt templates in Word 2007
If you want to send me the add-in and a couple of the templates, I will try
and reproduce the problem to see if I can determine what is causing it.

Thanks for the offer Doug. I'll have to wait until I get to work on
Monday before sending them.
