Re: Themes in Word 07 for web pages
Here's what I'm recommending to students:
If you apply styles to your headings before applying a theme, you will see a
more noticeable change when you apply a theme. Styles should be used to make
titles and headings consistent, distinctive, and "stylish." After you apply a
theme and style, you might want to add a page background for more visual
impact. You can also adjust font styles and colors as desired and add
horizontal divider lines for visual separation of page content.
To apply a theme:
1.Open the desired Web page with styles applied.
2.From the Page Layout tab, Themes group, click the Themes button.
3.Point to each theme, note the Live Preview on the Web page, and click the
desired theme.
To add a page background:
1.Open the desired Web page with styles and theme applied.
2.From the Page Layout tab, Page Background group, click the Page Color
button.
3.Point to each Theme Color or Standard Color, note the Live Preview on the
Web page, and click the desired color.
4.From the Page Layout tab, Themes group, click the Colors button; point to
various built-in colors and make any desired changes.
To adjust font colors:
1.Open the desired Web page with styles, theme, and page background applied.
2.From the Page Layout tab, Themes group, click the Fonts button.
3.Point to each built-in theme set of fonts, note the Live Preview on the
Web page, and click the desired theme font.
To insert a horizontal line:
1.Open the desired Web page with styles, theme, page background, and fonts
applied.
2.From the Page Layout tab, Page Background group, click the Page Borders
button.
3.From the Borders and Shading window, Page Border tab, click the Horizontal
Line button.
4.From the Horizontal Line window, click the desired line, and click OK.
