Thanks for you previous reply (listed below)- what I don't gather from the tutorial you sent me is how do I select a field as the Key Field- do you have code that can go with the example you gave- never really used Word previously so real starter stuff- even down to key strokes to write the code if needed. There is no visual basic code involved with performing that operation.
