Hai, Thank you for your assistance with my question in advance! I am writing my thesis. It is usually done in a master document format and as I am a novice with all these applications, I took the easy way out and took the tempate or rather the document of one my seniors and deleted her stuff and added mine! This worked fantastically so far. But my problem now is that her figures started from chapter eight which i did not have and so have deleted. Now if I add a figure in chapter two, it does not show up in the list of figures and even if i updatethe field it gives me a message "Error! No table of figures entries found." how do i create my list of figures??? i know this is a mess....... please accept my apologies in advance!
Use the Insert>Caption facility to insert the Figure numbers into your document and then you can use the Insert Table of Figures facility to create the list of figures in the document. It would probably be best to delete the existing Table of Figures completely. -- Hope this helps.
