how do i stop saving a back up saved file   
When I save a doc. a back up copy is always saved. I do not want this. How do 
I stop it please.

Hi Teresa,

In Tools|Options|Save, uncheck the 'Always create backup copy' option.

You can stop it from tools > options > general, but I would urge you not to. 
It solves far more problems than it creates and you can always periodically 
delete unwanted backups when you are sure you will no longer need them.
