My custom menu disappears (word 2003)
Hi All
I have a created a custom menu which is assigned to its own template (not
Normal).
When I open the template, the menu shows fine, but when I close the template
and load it globally, no custom menu appears.
If I then open the template with the menu I will get two menus, one from the
globally loaded template and another from the same template being opened.
Bizarre
Also, it intermittently disappears when I have the template open and if I
open
the customise form, do nothing, then close the customise form, the menu
comes back.
It's like it is being hidden by something.
Google shows quite a few similar problems, but no fixes seem to apply to me.
Any help much appreciated.

1. Do you have the PDFMaker addin associated with Adobe acrobat Standard
&/or Adobe Acrobat Professional? If so, which version?
2. Do you use Word as your email editor for Outlook?

Re: My custom menu disappears (word 2003)
Hi Jonathan
Adobe Reader 7.05 (no PDF maker) + Adobe Image ready and Photoshop and I
don't use Word as E-mail editor.
I saw a few links to Adobe when searching but the links were dead.
I have had a bit of trouble with Adobe and seem to have a version 6 also
installed although it defaults to 7 when opening a file.
I'll try on a few different PC's and see if the problems moves
Thanks for your interest.

Re: My custom menu disappears (word 2003)
Here are results Jonathan
1. Start Word. Go to Tools, Templates and add-ins, and uncheck any and all
add-ins that are loaded
DONE
2. Go to Tools, Customize. Click the Toolbars tab, select the Menu Bar
toolbar and click Reset. This should ensure that there are no changes to the
menu bar stored in Normal.dot.
DONE
3. Try loading your template as a document. Make sure the menu is visible.
YES IS VISIBLE
4. Try loading your template as an add-in. Make sure the menu is visible.
NO NOT VISIBLE
5. If you have any other add-ins listed, reload them now and see if your
menu is still visible.
N/A.
I will re ghost the effected PC
Thanks for your help
