Where are Word's "Options" stored? Many of my selections under the Tools | Options tabs(i.e., settings for "Windows in Taskbar", "Save" settings, etc.) are lost when I restart the program. My NORMAL.dot is just fine and those settings remain. I'm using Word 2003 under Vista. Many thanks.

The settings are in the registry in a "Data" key, as described at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/DataKeySettings.htm. That article also has a section on how to save your preferred settings so you can reapply them later. The article http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm tells you where to find the key and how to delete it so that Word will build a new factory-default key. Then you can apply the settings you saved. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
