Am trying to move Office 2000 formatted autocorrect items to Office 2007. From what I have read, the formatted ones should come over from your old Normal.dot and the unformatted ones come from the .acl file. I was able to just copy the .acl file from my Office 2000 folder to the new machine that has Office 2007. But my formatted ones that supposedly were stored in my Normal.dot did not come over when I replaced the Normal.dotm with my Office Normal.dot and had Word 2007 generate a new Normal.dotm from the old normal.dot. Is there a way? -- Judy L -- Judy L

Open it and click the Backup button on the floating toolbar that appears. This will create a document containing all the AutoCorrect entries (both formatted and unformatted). Copy that document to the new machine. Now download the AutoCorrect2007.zip file from http://jay-freedman.info and unzip it into the Templates folder on the new machine. Open it and click the Restore button on the floating toolbar. Select the document you copied from the old machine. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
