Spellcheck Default Language
I run MSO 2003 - English on a WXP Professional computer. I have Proofing
Tools for MSO 2003 installed to permit Thai spellchecking.
On a few of my English documents, when I click on the spellchecking button,
Office Assistant pops up telling me that it can't find the tools for French
or German or some other language, & asks if I want to install them.
After answering "no" to all the prompts, I go into Tools\Language\Set
Language & select English & click on Default & then Ok, afterwhich everything
works fine -- while the document is still open. The next time I open the
document, the original problem recurs. Note that I have "Detect language
automatically" checked, because I use two languages for my documents (English
& Thai).
Thanks to anyone who can help.

RE: Spellcheck Default Language
Turn OFF "Detect language automatically" and indicate the language manually
for each section of English/Thai text.

RE: Spellcheck Default Language
Thanks, TedMi. I figured that would work but was kind of hoping that MSO's
language detection feature was keen enough to correctly identify languages.
Manually setting the language for each document & parts of a document can be
teduious if not down-right annoying.
