Spell Checking in Word 2007 (Problem with "Ignore All")
If I use a non-accepted spelling the spell-checker suggests a correction. If
I then click on "Ignore" or "Ignore All", the word is passed over in the
spell check. Up to this point everything is fine.

My problem is that the next time I open that same document, the words I
"Ignored" in the previous session are again considered misspelled. That was
not the case with Word 2003. In Word 2003 if I "Ignored" a misspelled word it
would be ignored in all future sessions with that particular document. Is
Word 2007 supposed to be the same in that respect?

It remembers Ignored misspellings here, for me. Does Word 2007 "forget" for
all documents, or just for some?

Re: Spell Checking in Word 2007 (Problem with "Ignore All")
Herb,

Thank you for reminding me of one of the basics of troubleshooting -- seing
if the problem can be replicated!

I created a new Word document to test the problem, and lo and behold, in the
new document Word *does* remember the ignored misspellings! I have no idea
what might be the problem in the document where Word "forgets", but is there
a way to correct the problem?

Thanks,
Robel

Re: Spell Checking in Word 2007 (Problem with "Ignore All")
The document is probably corrupted... which means that you might want to try
any of several different laundering methods. A couple methods are:

1. Copy the contents of the document to the clipboard, then paste it into a
new Document # window, and see if the problem gets left behind.

2. Save the file in .rtf format, close it, then re-open it and re-save it in
Word format.
