Spellcheck Prompts for Proofing Tools
I'm using W2003 with XP. When I spellcheck, I often get messages prompting
for proofing tools for another language (Swedish, Arabic, etc.). How can
prevent these messages from appearing?

I tried searching for an answer to this & already did the following:
1) Verified that all language settings in XP & Word are the same & made sure
only US English is selected.

2) In Word, selected the document content & set all text to US English.

3) Reset US English as the default language.

The company creating the docs is international so it's quite possible that
other users had different languages enabled on their PC. Is there anyway to
prevent/stop these prompts from appearing at my end?

Thank you for your help,

RE: Spellcheck Prompts for Proofing Tools
JoAnn, try unticking "Detect language automatically" (see my similar question
of 1-23-2008 & answer by TedMi)). In your case, since all you use is English,
setting the default language to that should solve your problem. On the
other-hand, if both you use MSO from a network location AND TedMi's solution
doesn't work, then ask your IT administrator for help. If he won't set this
option globally, he may be able to configure a GPO that'll allow your unique
setting.
