Apostrophe spacing problem
I recently upgraded to Office 2007, and I'm having a new problem with Word.

When I type an apostrophe after a word, such as "Carole's," what I get is
"Carole' s" with an extra large space between the apostrophe and the
following letter. I stumbled around and finally was able to correct it, but
the correction has a yellow highlight on it that I don't understand.

I don't understand what Word is doing and how to get it to provide a normal
apostrophe (without the following space).

I would very much appreciate assistance.

Sincerely,
Ed Presson

Re: Apostrophe spacing problem
Hi Ed,

Look into the compatibility options, and set them to the default for Word 2007.
(Office button > Word Options > Advanced... then, look at the very bottom)
Also make sure the whole text is formatted as English.
(It sounds as if the apostrophe might be interpreted as an exotic/Asian character, and that messes up the spacing)

If that does not solve it: What's the font?

Regards,
Klaus
