Dutch spelling on an English Office 2007 Professional suite
Hello all,

I am looking for help on how to find, buy and install a Dutch language
proofing tool or multilanguage proofing tool including Dutch on a newly
installed English Office 2007 Professional Suite (OEM). The colleague using
the English Office suite is also working with an Azerty keyboard - not sure
if this complicates the matter or not.
The new colleague in question needs to be able to write and check his
spelling in Dutch and English, and is currently experiencing some frustration
as there is only limited support for Dutch in the spell checker. As our
organisation (located in Belgium) is small and not-for-profit, and this is
the first of our colleagues to have the Office 2007 suite installed on new
hardware, because the rest of us will have to wait until next year for
budgetary reasons, I should appreciate a pointer which will not cost us the
earth this year.

If anyone has experienced a similar problem, and has managed to find a way
of obtaining the Dutch proofing for Office 2007 - I'd really appreciate their
sharing their experiences with me.

Many thanks in advance,

RE: Dutch spelling on an English Office 2007 Professional suite
Hi Kedi2,

Since you have an English version of Office, you will need to buy the
Dutch proofing tools as part of the Dutch Language Pack for Office 2007.

Single Language Packs for Office 2007, which include the proofing tools for
one given language (spell-checker, thesaurus, grammar checker, etc.) are
available from a number of online stores worldwide. Check this out:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX102113661033.aspx

You can click on the link “Buy a single language pack now”. You then just
have to pick your country from the drop-down list and you will be directed to
the most appropriate store, as a function of your location. Some of the
stores are localized for the market or the region. You can then select the
language you are interested in (Dutch as far as you are concerned) and
click the “Buy Now” button.

If you want to know more about Language Packs for the 2007 Microsoft Office
system, check out the Frequently Asked Questions on the Office site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/HA102113701033.aspx

Customers can only purchase products in the online store for their region
(accessible from the localized Office Online sites). Otherwise, credit card
validation will fail. So if you are from outside the USA, customers should
not try to purchase these Single Language Packs from a US site. For Western
Europe, for instance, the purchase site can be directly accessed via
http://buy.trymicrosoftoffice.com/buyemea1. This is the site you should use
since you are located in Belgium.

I hope this will help you,

Best wishes,
