While writing a lengthy document, the spell checker changed to US English. I've no idea how or why but it did. I can change the default back to UK English and all seems to be OK for new documents but as soon as I access the document in question, it goes back to US English. I have tried cutting and pasting the original into a new one but it looks as if WORD recognises the language it was originally typed in. Is there a way round this ? TIA Phian

I know there are newer versions but this usually does the trick for my needs and I am used to it.
Does the US document use the same template as the others? If not, check the template. Also I had this problem when I inherited a document wher the original author had added the language settings to the styles. Hope this helps, -- Brian McCaffery "Phian" wrote: > > "Phian" wrote in message > news:OxUNu6a5HHA.464@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > > While writing a lengthy document, the spell checker changed to US English. > > I've no idea how or why but it did.
