Preventing Office defaulting back to US Dictionary
We have setup Office2003 with UK Regional settings, UK sytem locale and run
Office2003 Language Settings to set the default language as UK. The US
keyboard settings have been removed. The Word2003 Normal.dot template has
been saved and checked to ensure its default is English UK. All seems well.
The date appears in UK format and words like centre and neighbour are not
underlined.

However, there seems to be a weakness in Document Imaging. The default
language has been set as [Default Office Language Setting] as distinct from
(generic) English. However, when any scanned and OCR'd text is imported into
Word2003, it comes in as US. If users are not careful - for example if no
spelling errors are detected - they run the risk, when they close Word, of
changing the default dictionary to US - despite everything being UK.

I understand that there is a common dictionary for both US American and UK
English, so it is not possible to delete the US Dictionary, but it is
becoming frustrating that we seem helpless to prevent this happening depsite
setting everything we can find to UK English.

Any advice on how to set Document Imaging to UK English permanently would be
appreciated.

Many thanks, John.
