Autocorrect help please
I would like to automatically replace some of my old fashioned typing
style with a more up to date typing style, but no matter how hard I
try to improve my typing, I cannot always get it right!

I learnt to type on a typewriter, and my teacher taught me to always
press the space bar twice after a full stop (aka a period).

I happily enter a single space after a comma - ", " but cannot retrain
myself to do the same at the end of a sentence. :)

Is there a way of getting AutoCorrect to do this on Word 2002?

When I go to AutoCorrect and enter ". " in the replace box and ". "
in the with box I don't get the opportunity to add it - been trying
without the quotes of course ;)

Thanks

Noz

Re: Autocorrect help please
Sadly, that kind of correction isn't possible in AutoCorrect.

You can get the grammar checker to flag occurrences of two spaces at the end
of a sentence. In Tools > Options > Spelling & Grammar, click the Settings
button and set "Spaces required between sentences" to 1. However, that won't
automatically correct the occurrences.

You can use the Replace dialog to search for all period-space-space and
replace with period-space. You can use the macro recorder to record this
action (http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/UsingRecorder.htm) and assign it
to a keystroke or a button. With a little more macro work, you could call
the first macro whenever a document is saved or printed
(http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/InterceptSavePrint.htm).

Never mind.

Thanks for that - it's pretty much what I do now - I just thought
maybe autocorrect would be "neater".

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
