I have a user who is complaining that word is opening documents in read only, when nobody else has them open. But once she closes and re-opens the file, all is just fine. So I've been checking to make sure no .tmp files are still there that would confuse word, and their aren't. I'm using word XP, on a win2k computer, on a windows 2000/2003 network. Has anyone else seen this problem, or can anyone tell me how to get word to pop up a notice when it is opening a file read only.
See the article "I keep getting files that I am working on locked for editing. Word only allows me to open them read-only" at: http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/LockedFiles.htm -- Hope this helps.
