I keep getting the message that my new computer has over 500 fonts installed. How do I delete some of them that I will never use?

Go to your Fonts folder, select the ones you don't want, and either right-click or click the File menu, and choose Delete. (They'll be gone forever. If you might want them someday, Move them somewere else.)
As grammatim suggests, moving is safer than deleting, but see also http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/DeleteFontsSafely.htm. Note that the article is pre-Office 2007. There are new default fonts in Word 2007 (notably Calibri and Cambria) that you will want to be sure to keep; all the new Office 2007 fonts begin with C. -- Suzanne S. I admit that I am simply curious about this message. Would you please let us know the exact wording. As an experiment, I once had more than 2000 (yes, two thousand) fonts installed without any kind of problem or message. Thanks. -- Tom MSMVP 1998-2007 "pmh532" wrote in message news:14468D7A-16B2-42EC-AF1D-B319D62F8D04@microsoft.com... >I keep getting the message that my new computer has over 500 fonts >installed.
