Word adds a space character when printing
Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem printing with Word.
Some of the text is in a special font, a barcode font. When I edit the
document, it looks allright, but when I shoot print preview, or when I
actually print, the words have a space character appended to it.
This is bad for me because that breaks the barcode and makes it unreadable.

So, how do I make Word not append space characters when printing?

PS: I tried with OpenOffice, and it went smooth, but my boss doesn't want me
to use OpenOffice, because I'm the only one in the company using it.

Re: Word adds a space character when printing
Is the bar code created by a field? If so, delete the space at the end of
the field code. This is a known problem with EQ fields and may affect others
as well. You say the bar code is created by a font; it may have extra space
built in, or it may be that Word is using some "smart" option that you can
disable on the Edit tab of Tools | Options, or it may be a printer issue
(since the display seems to be correct). What it *isn't* is Word "appending"
space characters when printing because Word sends to the printer just what
is in the document. If the printer is rendering it incorrectly, you might
try using the printer option to send the document as TrueType or bitmaps or
however it's worded in your specific printer driver Properties. This forces
the printer to print what's on the screen and not use its resident fonts, if
any.

Re: Word adds a space character when printing
Do you mean that extra white space is appearing between the bar-code
characters or that the character Word uses to represent a space on the
screen (if and when non-printing-characters are set to "on"), a centered
dot, is being printed as part of the bar code?
