Ornate Roman Numeral V
Hello All,

I am trying to find a glyph for the Roman Numeral V that has a line above
and below. The bottom line would be longer than the top. I am using Word 2003
and I am limiting myself to the default installed fonts.

If some has an idea of where I can find it please let me know.

Thanks,

Alcide

Re: Ornate Roman Numeral V
I do not believe any of the default installed fonts, or any other, have such
a glyph. It would have the Arabiclly-expressed value of 5 000 000, i.e. 5 x
1000 x 1000 or 5 x 10EE6. I suspect you intend that it express 5 but more
decoratively than a plain V.

In any case, you could might get it as a compound of V with overline and
underline touching the V by using an appropriate inserted field code or by
creating a glyph using the User Character Editor. See the Windows help
system.

Re: Ornate Roman Numeral V
Are you using XP? If so, there is a font editor that you could use to create the glyph you
want. Look in C:\WINDOWS\system32\eudcedit.exe. Double-click on eudcedit.exe and glyph away.
