Font recommendation?
We are currently using a Courier New 9-pt font in an Access report. I
need to squeeze it to change the landscape orientation to portrait.
At the moment, I'm using SimSun, which saves me a bit of room.

Are there any recommendations for a mono-spaced sans-serif narrow or
condensed font that is easily readable at 9 point? I have all the
standard Windows XP system fonts.

Re: Font recommendation?
I do not think any of the Windows-supplied fonts meet the hopes of your
requirements.

One or more of these from March Fonts might be appropriate. No doubt, more
are available from other foundries.

They are available in TrueType or PostScript Type 1 (not OpenType) and are
optimized for use for printed material.

You might try googling for

    monospaced condensed font
    monospaced narrow font
    monospaced thin font
and the same searches with mono instead of monospace.

There is a plethora of fonts available that may be suitable for your
particular purposes. Since you appear to be switching from a serif
face (Courier) to a sans-serif, the "style" will differ from the
previous. The various sans-serif fonts have a wide style range, from
classic to ultra-modern.

Re: Font recommendation?
Hi Ed,

You could try MS Gothic at a smaller point size. It's characters are taller than SimSun, so they have something of the effect of a
more condensed font.

Cheers
