Starting over with clean slate
I've been working on a book for years, and have created so many new styles
it's hard to work with them.
Is there any way to revert to Word's basic styles and start over without
losing my work?

Re: Starting over with clean slate
If you really want a clean slate, you could apply Normal (or, my preference,
Body Text or Body Text First Indent--whichever would be the most commonly
used style in the document) to the entire document, then copy/paste into a
fresh document (being careful to omit the final paragraph and any section
breaks). You'll have only the built-in styles to work with and customize to
your requirements.
