Can't print new docs from Word and Excel - But can print old ones
Very Strange...

I have a Savin 2518d copier that I have been printing to with no
problems. All of a sudden, users can't print new documents from word
or excel. They can open exsisting documents and print them fine. They
can also print from all other programs.

This is printing from a Windows 2003 Terminal Server with Microsoft
Word 2003.

I've done a Detect and Repair; I've deleted and uninstalled the print
drivers; I've downloaded and installed updated drivers.

I used the troubleshooting template and I can print that. I renamed
the normal.dot and let it create a new one.

Nothing has worked and I'm at a loss. Anyone have ANY ideas or
solutions?

TIA!

All you say is "can't print". Could you be more specific? Exactly what happens
when you do what? E.G. Create a document, select File / Print, and then ...

I open word and start with a new document. I type something up there,
go to File, Print. It shows it printing in the print queue. If you
have the printer queue open, you see the document pop up there, it says
printing, then says deleteing, and it is done. Nothing comes out on
the printer. There is no error and even the event viewer shows the
document printed. I can open up an exsisting document and print it and
it prints fine. Just new documents won't print.

Check to see that for some reason, the font is formatted as Hidden

Or, check the "Hidden Text" box of the Include with Document section of the
Tools>Options>Print dialog.

Well,

This didn't fix the issue. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I
have a call in to the people that leased us the Savin. I am hoping it
is a Savin issue that a Firmware upgrade might fix. Otherwise, I'm
truely stumped.
