Is there a standalone word pad? and where can I get a free download? thank you in advance. Have .doc files that won't open.
Hi William, > Is there a standalone word pad? and where can I get a free download? > WordPad is part of the Windows operating system - if you have Windows, you should have WordPad. It's not available for download. Microsoft Word (the subject of this newsgroup) is definitely NOT available as a free download. You might want to ask in word.docmanagement (the more "general" group) about you *.doc files that won't open. Be sure to mention with which application they were created, which version of Windows you have, and whether you have Microsoft Office or Word. Hi William, I'm not sure I'm following your question. Windows Wordpad would be under Start=>Programs=>Accessories Microsoft Office Word is a paid program, but you can get a 60 day trial from http://trymicrosoftoffice.com ========= <<"William Niblett" wrote in message news:tLU5k.4510$WH.2818@trndny05...
