Word 2007 error when opening document with bullet styles   

I created a document in Word 2003 with several bullet styles.  When I try to 
open it in Word 2007, I get an error. Word 2007 makes repairs to those styles 
in order to open the document.  However, the repairs strip out the bullets.  
How can I get these bullet styles to work in Word 2007?
