Can't view clip art or screen shots in Word. Shows blank white   

When I try to view cipart or someone sends me doc with screen shot (such as 
instructions from a software screen), it shows as blank white box. How do I 
fix this?

Make sure that "Picture placeholders" is not checked on the View tab of 
Tools | Options.
