No Blue Connectors In Drawing   

I can see blue connectors on a new shape I just added to a drawing but I 
cannot see the blue connectors on any other shape added during a previous 
session.  Why ?

What version of Word?
What version of Windows?
What steps are you using to create the Drawing and add the shapes? (I'm assuming you're using a Drawing Canvas).
