When I open a document created in Word 2003 in Word 2007 compatability mode everything is fine. If I save it as a .docx file, then the headers and footers sometimes completely disappear. The header contains graphics (.gif) files and the footer contains text. My suspicion is that it has something to do with the graphics, but am unable to determine exactly what the problem is.
