hanging indent/users profile
I have word 2007 and have suddenly developed a strange problem. When I add a
drawing canvas to my document, it will no longer recognize the indent format
of my numbered lists. This has worked wonderfully for months but now it has
a glitch. I insert the drawing canvas, format the text wrapping as "Square",
and move it where I want it which is flush to the top and left hand side
margin. The canvas is about 2 inches wide. The numbered list is along side
the drawing canvas. Until today, the text on each numbered line was formatted
so that it was indented .25" from the number. Any additional lines under that
particular number were also indented and lined up exactly underneath the
first line.

Today, however, once the drawing canvas is added, the first line of numbered
text is indented, but any additional lines are not.

I've checked both the paragraph and numbering settings on the text as just
straight text - it shows a hanging indent of .25" and the "Adjusting List
Indents" settings which shows number alignment at 0", Text indent at 0.25"
and Tab Character at 0.25". For some reason it doesn't want to do that
indent.

If I move the drawing canvas to an area where there is no text, the numbered
lists are once again perfectly aligned. Please help!

Also, can someone tell me where to find the user profile?

Re: hanging indent/users profile
What you are seeing is a known issue with indentation for text next to
objects in Word. It has been along (with slightly different symptoms) for
several Word versions. The only workaround that I know of is to place the
drawing canvas in the page margin or set its text wrapping to "In line with
text."
