I hope this is the right NG for my problem. I have a program that I use for converting images to Word format and it does a reasonably good job. I have a friend who wants to convert printed text to an editable text format and I found that Microsoft Office under Tools has a program that converts (OCR) a scanned image to a doc file. When I accessed that option to see if it worked as well as my other program, the program came up and I selected FILE and then SCAN NEW DOCUMENT. A message popped up saying, "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disk that is not available. The feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?" I selected yes, put my Office 2003 Professional disk in D:\ drive and it started the installation. Midway through it stopped and said it couldn't find the file PRO11N.MSI. I opened the disk contents and the file showing on the disk is PROI11N.MSI and it won't accept it. I also tried opening the install and doing a custom install selecting only that option. It doesn't work. What am I doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.. Jack PS.. My OS is Microsoft Vista Ultimate 64x
I am having the same problem while trying to install service pack 3 for office. It is telling me it needs PRO11.msi, but I can only find PROI11N.msi. Were you able to figure this out yet?
