Locating Templates in Word 2003
Hello,
I appreciate your time and help with this. I have created a couple
templates for work, and saved them as templates. Now the stupid question...
How can I easily access them from Word? I have been using the "help
assistant" and reading in here, but am getting no where. I have gone to
"Tools" and clicked on "Templates and add ons" and made sure that both of my
templates were added there. They contain no macros. My macro settings are set
to high. Is there a simple way I can click in a drop down pane or button, and
go directly to my templates? Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Locating Templates in Word 2003
Assuming you have saved the templates in the default Templates folder, you
can create a new document based on a given template using the New (or
Templates) dialog. If you want to edit the template itself, you'll need to
navigate to the Templates folder to open it. I find it convenient to add the
Templates folder to the Places Bar.

Re: Locating Templates in Word 2003
In addition to what Suzanne has said, Word 2003, by default, saves documents
saved as templates in the User Template folder (which is defined at Tools >
Options > File Locations > User Templates.) Any template in that folder or a
sub-folder of that folder will appear in the File > New dialog either
directly or under a tab of the same name as the sub-folder. It is not
necessary nor desirable to add document templates to Tools > Templates and
Add-ons.

For faster access to your document templates, add the FileNewDialog command
to your standard toolbar in addition to, or in place of, the New command.
