Is there a way to modify the order in which styles appear in the Quick Style List? It seems like it could be very useful, but, for example, "Heading 1" isn't the one I'll use most often; I'd like to have often-used ones at the start. -- Greg
Click 'Options' at the bottom of the dialog and you will find a number of sort options. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Greg wrote: > Is there a way to modify the order in which styles appear in the Quick > Style List? You can set your own recommended order for Quick Styles using the Styles Manager. To access it, on the Home tab, in the Styles group, click the dialog box launcher (little arrow in the bottom right corner) and at the bottom of the Styles pane, click the Manage Styles button. Then on the Recommend tab you'll find the ability to change the Recommended sort order. If you want to change it for all new documents based on your Normal template, use the "New documents based on this template" option at the bottom. It wasn't at all obvious! Thank you. You're welcome. :-) The Styles Manager dialog box contains all types of style goodies and options for managing styles. The most commonly overlooked set of options is the Document Defaults (Set Defaults) which should now be used instead of altering the Normal style in order to set your "base" style defaults.
