I've just bought a laptop with Vista pre-installed. I notice that many (if not all) TrueType fonts no longer work in Word. The only ones to work are the OpenType fonts. Is this deliberate policy on the part of Microsoft to phase out TrueType fonts? Is there a way to get the TrueType fonts to work again as I have a great number of them, some quite specialised. Any help gratefully received. David -- David Rance writing from Caversham, Reading, UK david.rance@rance.org.uk http://www.mesnil.demon.co.uk
Do you have a printer driver installed and set as active printer? The fonts that can be displayed are primarily a function of the printer driver. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> David Rance wrote: > I've just bought a laptop with Vista pre-installed. Incidentally I never knew that one had to have the printer driver installed in order to display fonts on the screen. You learn something new everyday! Anyway, Graham, many thanks for the pointer. Everything is fine now. Best wishes, David -- David Rance writing from Caversham, Reading, UK david.rance@rance.org.uk http://www.mesnil.demon.co.uk
