Print Driver to Word.doc
I can find all kinds of Print drivers that convert the output to PDF. But my
boss has a nut on, and wants everything in .DOC format. This is hard to do
with programs that do not support data export just the print option.

I have for years save configuration information from servers and such in
PDF, but now what can I do!?! HELP ME PLEASE... Is there a print driver that
outputs DOC.

Thanks
Bill

Re: Print Driver to Word.doc
G'Day Bill,

> boss has a nut on, and wants everything in .DOC format......
Well Bill, you got a problem......

DOC is a Microsoft proprietary format for DOCUMENTS created in
Word.

Some other Word Processors (e.g. Open/Star Office) will 'save as'
to DOC format.

Programs that are NOT word processors (e.g. Microsoft Excel or
Microsoft Access etc) can not realistically save to DOC format
(although Access reports can be sent to Word).

As you have already found, third party products do their own thing.
Sometimes you can print to a text file, and then open in Word - a
lot of work for a nonsensical whim.

Ask him for the business case for DOC format, and try to give him
an alternative - e.g. XML.

Good luck!
