I just set up my HP MCE system via a wired home network to my Xbox running as an Xbox extender. I can play the video from AVI format home movies I recorded with a Sony straight to DVD camcorder, but the sound won't play on the TV. How do I make this work? I thought it might be a codec issue, but I can hear the sound just fine on my MCE system, just not on the TV via the Xbox. While I'm at it, anybody know how to: -- Make the MCE display in wide screen format to match my TV instead of standard square box -- Get the thumbnails to show
Extenders only support a limited number of video file formats, as they use their own built-in decoders. They do not use video decoders installed on the PC. A list of supported video file formats is included in this FAQ: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/extender/faq.mspx -- -Bob _______________________________ Microsoft MVP Windows XP Media Center Edition http://www.microsoft.com/ehome "Ilbarbaro" wrote in message news:693A9183-D599-425D-B573-28D2BF2DC2AF@microsoft.com... >I just set up my HP MCE system via a wired home network to my Xbox running as > an Xbox extender.
