Today, from my standard user account, I found that I was unable to get past
the UAC password prompt to allow Avast definition updates.
I provide the right pw, but the pw dialog returns with the error:
"Login failure: Unknown username or bad password."

Cannot Delet File

When I click the Windows Start button, then view Recent Items I have a
file there that I cannot delete. When I go to the folder it shows it is
located, it does not show up on the list of files.
Is this a virus? Is there a way to delete this file from my computer?
Using Vista Home Preferred 32bit.

I have just upgraded from windows xp to windows vista home premium 32
.There is some kind of issue whenever I try to access a folder.It asks for
permissions and in some cases even with the permission it still won't
allow access.Is there a way that I can correct the admin. rights for all
files and folders ...

Hello ppl,
i want to replace a SID on a Network Share, its an EMC Cellerra Fileserver.
The SID belongs to a non existent local Group of a Computer, and shall be
replaced with the Domain Admins.
Now the Problem is: i can see the SID when i do a icacls . /save blabla /t eg:

Scheduler works then quits. Wants password AGAIN--why??

I set up the scheduler to run a set of DOS commands. It works for a
while then quits saying that it has a "launch failure" and the
