Vista cant find drivers for deskjet 5740

I have a hp deskjet 5740 printer. On my computer (windows vista home
premium) it detects the printer but cannot find the drivers for it and
this printer works on my sisters laptop which has vista aswell. Please

Printer stops working when addressed from other network-PC's

My HP-Deskjet is connected to a Vista-64 based PC which runs in a
4-PC-network; the 3 other PC's are XP. There were no problems with the

This vista platform is driving me crazy! I have had to remove my HP
7460 Photosmart twice, now its locked up again. To remove it, the queue
has to be cleared but I have a document that I can't get out. I have

I have been have problems with my prints spooling. Some times it prints
fine and other times i have to restart the computer and then it prints.
When I restart the spooler it does not and i have to delete the printer
and reinstall in order to get it to work but it is only temporary. I

I was looking at putting XP on my new laptop, but it looks like I won't
have to now.
The patch solved more than one problem.
Duplex did not work.
I couldn't choose the paper tray.
It complained every time I tried 'Fast Draft'

The HP Color Laserjet cp1215 which is shared from an XP PC prints fine
from 3 XP PC's. The Vista PC (running Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1)
