Changing ink in Cannon Printer

I have a Cannon Pixma ip1700 printer. I just changed the ink(why do you have
to push with all your might to insert the cartridges?) Anyway, got both of
hem in and the light on top tells me they're in there right. WhenI check in

Printer Status Error using Vista Home Premium

When I want to print a page and click print, the screen opens where you
select number of copies, etc. In the middle left of this screen is "Status"
and immediately following status is the word "Error". I have one printer
directly connected to the computer and it is connected as the default

network printer fails to print, no error message given

On the network, I can see the printer and it says Ready. When I remotely try
to print, nothing happens. Not even an error message. The only clue is that
the printer status reads "error".

As the title suggests, I've got a *Canon LBP 5200*. I'm running Vista
x64 and of course the *drivers won't install*. (and yes, I've tried
running as admin and in compatability modes)
Does anyone have a fix for this? Canon said that becaust Vista x64 is
not in common use, they're not going to support it.

Printing sticks after half a page

My HP Photosmart 2575 MFD under Vista sometimes works fine but then randomly
prints a few lines of a job and gives up. An error shows in the print queue,
but the only way the job will delete is if the printer is physically

changing preferences for default printer

I'm trying to change the default settings for a printer in Vista. It
defaults to Actual Size but I want the 3rd option of printing at
100%. Vista is actually doing a shrink-to fit open for actual size
and the only way I can get it to print like XP is if its changed to

Printed Photos using Gallery gives faded colors

When i print photos directly from my digital camera via the printer the
photos are brilliant but if i upload them onto my computer and try and
print them via picture gallery the color is faded.
