Cant open attachments

I am running Vista Home Premium and Windows mail. About 4 days ago Mail
decided that it will not permit me to open any attachments. I have unchecked
the attachements box in settings, disabled my AVG 8.0 and subsequently
de-installed it, all to no avail. Any suggestions welcomed.

Live Mail is crap. It is S-L-o-W. I have hardly any emails in my folders
and it is way worse than OE. I'd say this is another step backwards. One
wonders if MS ever uses focus groups to report.

With Outlook Express I could easily switch between my mail accounts. But
when I added a second mail account with Windows Mail, it mixed all my emails
from two different accounts together and I don't even see another option for
