Microsoft PhotoDraw / Photoshop / Illustrator Thumbail Previews Go

I've used XP and was able to see a 'preview' of the file image (such as a
picture) of a MS PhotoDraw, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator drawing. But since
moving to Vista (64bit Home Premium) there is NO preview (to explain this
better, look at a picture thumbail and the same applies to these).
Any idea how to ' ...

Unable to detect USB devices

System: Vista home premium, SP1 with latest updates and patches.
The system is not able to detect USB devices compatible with Vista. It asks
to install the driver which obviously is not needed for Vista. Any help would
be appreciated. I did find a hotfix KB940199 which seems to be pre SP1 so I

So far, I've only been able to stop it with a good firewall. A firewall
because SearchIndexer.exe attempts to access the internet.
This is only one of the programs that Microsoft uses to hijack your
computer and transmit data elsewhere.

My display settings will frequently change itself from the highest resolution
to the lowest resolution without user adjustments. It is often impossible to
reset display settings afterward without a re-boot. Sometimes one user can
reset resolution but another cannot. Sometimes none can.

Okay,
before i get into the BIG problem, i hate typing on this laptop HP
Pavillion dv2000! it goes everywhere in the screen and im not even
touching the mouse pad!!! esp when im typing my paper in microsoft word,

I found the below information to stop dpupdchk.exe from running and eating
up 3 to 5 MBs of RAM but it doesn't apply to my version of Vista Home
Premium since there is no Local Security Policy or Software Security
Policies under Administrative Tools. How do I stop this from running?
