Problems with Windows Media Player 11

My buddy has a new notebook with Vista installed
We are having trouble with MPEG files on Windows Media Player 11.
It says that an audio Codec is missing.
I went to Microsoft support and downloaded a Codec installation package, but
it warned that it was for Windows XP or 2000 only so I did not install it.

Usb thumb drive not showing up in windows explorer

My thumb drive is recognized in device manager, but doesn't show up when I
go into explorer. How can I get explorer to see it?

Vista AVG8 and Vista

I recently uninstalled AVG-AV 7.5 and AVG-AS 7.5. I then installed AVG8.
Now when I open the Vista Security Centter and click on Malware and then
click on the Show me the anit-spyware programs on this computer.
What I see is:
AVG - Anti Spyware - Out of date
AVG Anti-Virus Free - ON
Windows Defender - ON

Restored Factory Settings on Laptop that had BitLocker - Now want to do bitlocker again

So I had a IE issue on my laptop. It was home premium version of vista. I
installed ultimate. I used bitlocker, which creates a 5GB partition.
I had to do a factory restore on the laptop and install all my apps and
SP's. So now I am back with Vista Ultimate SP1. Now, I want to enable bit

HDD light stays on when returning from sleep

Hi,
I have a very small problem on a MSI motherboard running under Vista
Home Premium (SP1). When the machine returns from "Sleep" or
"Hibernate" the drive LED stays on permanently. Nothing I can do will
return it to the normal 'on and off' state except a reboot. There are
no other problems so I can live with ...

Can anyone tell me how to restore this computer back to its factory
settings. I have to return it to my employer. I'm ok with computers
