Services won't start
Tue, 2 Sep 2008 04:36:08 +0100
I have several services that are set to start automatically that don't
start. These include the Windows Audio Service and the DHCP service.
They work perfectly well if I start them manually! Any idea how to get
them to start automatically?
The Startup Type is set to "Automatic" but they must be started
manually.

Mon, 01 Sep 2008 20:27:06 -0700
Hello,
Does anyone here know for certain whether the MS EULA
will allow me to legally use both Vista-32 and Vista-64
on the same computer?
I do not know where to contact someone at MS to ask this,
so thought I would try this NG.
Computer is presently running Vista-32.

"desktop background feature disabled"
Mon, 1 Sep 2008 19:35:44 -0500
My desktop is black, and when I go into the Control Panel to change it,
I get a message that says it is disabled and to check with the
administrator (ME!). When my daughter logs into her user account, all
is well for her, so it's just in my user account.
I've done an exhaustive Google search, and downloaded & ran ...

Hello,

The same old READYBOOST question...
Mon, 01 Sep 2008 16:11:05 -0700
My laptop has a flush-mounted flash memory card in one
slot, permanently. It is an 8GB super fast SanDisk
Ultra, but I use less than 2GB for a running backup of
working files.
So, the question:
Given a T7700 2.4GHz laptop with 4GB of installed RAM
(3.2GB recognized), is there any reason whatsoever to

Readyboost/Paging File
Mon, 1 Sep 2008 18:01:32 -0400
I tried to post this earlier but I don't think it went through. I apologize
if it ends up being a double post.
I'm using Vista Ultimate. I have 2GB of RAM installed, and an 8GB Flash
drive that I'm using for Readyboost with 4GB reserved for Readyboost.
Do I still need to use a paging file with this setup?
