searchin file contents issue in vista?

I think there is an underlying problem or defficiency in Vista, with regards
to searching file contents, which microsoft still has not addressed after all
these months.
I have set up search to search the contents of files with the "Always Search
File Contents" option (it wasn't easy to figure out how to get ...

Network file organization - REQ info on best methods

I'm wondering if anyone knows the best way to organize files on multiple
servers in a corporate environment. I've been reading about FAN and some
other areas but wondering if anyone has any cheap efficient ideas for

i try to delete files in my sharing folder but cant . i went to help section
and it said ti right click on file , i did and a drop down appeared but there
was no delete button on it so i was not able to delete the file , it is not a

How to Create List of Linked Files

external drive (old Laptop) & Vista permissions

My old Win Xp Laptop broke so I'm using the hard drive as an external for my
new Vista Laptop, but whenever I try opening files from it I'm getting
trouble with permission.
I have tried changing permissions on the security tab of properties but not

Defrag Backup?

I save entire disk images to a second internal hard drive that is
partitioned just for backing up entire images of my primary hard drive.
Windows analyzed and suggests defragging but should I defrag the
backups? The suggestion to defrag is not for my primary hard drive--I
know because I just defragged that drive.
