deleted files

accidently emptied recycle bin thus permanently deleting the files in it, is
there any way i can get those files back or are they really permanently
deleted? ...

Hi,
I seem to have a problem using "Search" on Vista. It was working a whie ago
but now seems to have stopped.
When i use the start menu search field i get a "Search failed to initialise"
reply. When i use the search field in explorer i get no hits at all.
I've checked the Search service and its runnin ...

Search Displays Deleted File Names (in deleted folder)

Much of the stuff I download from the net goes into one particular folder,
and a search immediately shows it is present.
However, when I remove a file from that folder, the search STILL shows it is
present (its filename, NOT the actual file).
I have tried deleting the entire folder, then reperforming the saved ...

Can't find .oma filetypes

I have a lot of .oma files that I need to delete. I can see them in
explorer, can play them and delete them etc. But I want to search for
them all in one go and delete them all.
When I type oma in the search box nothing come up, even if I type part
of the file name nothing is found.
any advise please.

Corrupted Pictures Folder in VISTA HOME SP1

The C:\users\name\pictures folder has become corrupted and now shows 0 files.
A search for *.jpg files in C: still shows all the files as existing under
the path c:\users\name\pictures and its previous subfolders .. but attempts
to drag & drop them from the search results pane to another c:\users\name
folde ...

I wish I could help but I'm having a very similar problem. The only
difference seems to be that I'm not copying from a USB drive, but just
from one SATA drive to my new 750Gb drive.
Single files, even 8Gb files, transfer without issue, but directories
with many subdirectories simply lock up the machine after a wh ...
